Bin Salman launches a new “MIT” and “NEOM” partnership

Saudi Crown Prince Prince Mohammed bin Salman has announced several partnerships between Saudi institutions and the United States, including a major new partnership between King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the NEOM project.

Together, the three institutions will launch new joint ventures in research, student exchange and entrepreneurship to enable the US and Saudi entities to meet common innovation goals.

The new conventions will be announced at the MIT Innovation for Impact Forum 2018. The Innovation for Impact Forum coincides with the first official visit to the United States by Prince Mohammed bin Salman since he took office in the kingdom.

“Thanks to the unique capabilities of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and KAUST, this collaboration will enhance technology in many NEOM-related areas,” said Klaus Kleinfeld, CEO of NEOM.

“With the vision of 2030, the Kingdom is heading for a promising future,” said Rafael Reeve, president of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. One of the key elements of this strategy is building cooperative relationships around the world, including with leading universities, hospitals and companies in Greater Boston, and MIT is pleased to bring this wonderful collection to the Innovation Forum for the year. ”
