The role

We are seeking to appoint a highly qualified and experienced Learning Services leader with experience in developing and supporting a whole school SEND/ Inclusion strategy and also able to lead a program of support and development for Gifted and Talented Students. The role is most suitable for candidates who have worked across multiple schools and/or provisions. As Leader of Learning Services, the post holder will play an instrumental role in the development and implementation of the NEOM Community School Learning Services strategy across the schools.

Accountabilities

  • Providing leadership and direction on the SEND/Inclusion strategy for all schools, working in conjunction with the Heads of School, Faculty leaders, and teaching teams
  • Responsibility for relevant SEND/Inclusion/Gifted and Talented strategy and related development and action plans for the school, including quality assurance and effectiveness monitoring plan.
  • Providing strategic direction, developing and disseminating all policies and protocols ensuring that NCS is at the forefront of best practices in these Learning Services.
  • Improving student outcomes and ensuring access to learning for all students, toward reducing the attainment gap for all (identified) students, across all phases, ensuring students fulfill their highest potential and that Gifted and Talented students are challenged and supported in their specific skills and holistic learning
  • Co-constructing a systematic and consistent approach to the collation and analysis of Inclusion data and rigorous monitoring of attainment and progress ensuring appropriate intervention and action where necessary.
  • Building the capability and infrastructure of the school to meet current and future challenges around SEND/Inclusion and Gifted and Talented Students.
  • Leading CPD, briefings, projects, and activities for individual teachers, Tas, and the whole school where appropriate.

As a Learning services leader you will:

  • Be a highly successful and proven Learning Services leader with a track record of educational excellence and tangible outcomes.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills that will enable you to motivate and inspire your colleagues and develop productive relationships at all levels.
  • Be a passionate educator and have current working knowledge of SEND and Inclusion practice at the highest level, together with a clear vision and strategy for the identification and support of students presenting with specific Gifts and Talents, keeping up to date professionally and educationally with all international developments across these fields.
  • Have the ability to maintain emotional equilibrium in light of professional pressures and deadlines.

International experience is essential, and experience of working in the Middle East is desirable. An openness to quickly understand and embrace the culture and opportunities that working in a diverse international company brings is essential.

This is a new role in our organization that includes the opportunity for the successful candidate to review and amend the role descriptor over the first six months in post as the school expands and develops

B.ED/B.An in Childhood Studies/Education (or equivalent)

DESIRABLE

MA/M.ED second degree or further relevant qualification
