Product Manager – Cognitive Digital Technologies

The Product Manager would envision, design, develop, and deliver cognitive digital products across the EWF sector.  The role will:

define the AI-based product portfolio based on the internal stakeholders’ requirements

define the commercial market appropriate AI product portfolio

manage the entire product life cycle from development through the end of life.

The products would be data-driven / AI-enabled digital solutions that will feature “smartness” in the applications related to the utility industry thereby lowering the disruption in service, forecasting demand (seasonal/regional/project-based), managing resources efficiently, reducing maintenance and operating cost and more. 

Additionally, developing products analyzing customer consumption and feedback would be necessary.  Products thus developed would be containerized in the CI/CD pipeline allowing for seamless development, integration, deployment, feedback, and continuous improvement. 

The product manager will play a pivotal role in defining the Cognitive Digital Solutions suite of applications supporting the full value chain of the EWF sector working with the data architect and software engineering team/vendors to build these applications.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Own the product roadmap, design, and technical development cycles for core AI/ machine learning products and services that are part of the Cognitive Digital Solution Suite.
  • Develop detailed product specifications and associated project work plans for EWF AI Platform AI/ Machine Learning features and key enhancements requests
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the full suite of visual and API interfaces, identify gaps, and work collaboratively with stakeholders of different verticals, IT, engineering, data science, and design teams to bring AI products to their intended business value across the entire value chain of the sector
  • An all-round experience in developing hands-on code for machine learning frameworks and software engineering
  • Be fluent in the infrastructure and processes required to develop and operate ML models at scale.
  • Develop solutions that are cloud-native but platform and channel-agnostic with a view to improve customer (internal and external) experience and accelerate business outcomes
  • Engage consultants, vendors, and consultants to build applications
  • Contribute to project plans, status reviews, cross-functional meetings, executive status reviews.
  • Provide technical guidance to customer teams using EWF Suite capabilities
  • Know the market, and clearly communicate complex technical topics between engineering, data science, and business leaders.
  • Be abreast of the state-of-the-art solutions but embrace only those solutions which address business challenges in the applications built
  • Contribute to intellectual property development and company representations in technical conferences and trade shows
  • Publish internal reports and external articles and white papers to showcase company success and maintain industry thought leadership
  • Grow products and team organically.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor / Master of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or similar field and Master of Science or Business Administration degrees
  • Any relevant course certifications
  • Proven track record of success, possibly backed up by a positive referral from a past customer/investor for who a product was delivered
  • Minimum 10 years of IT experience with 8 years of technical product management
  • Minimum 2 years in a software/application development environment where analytics / AI models had been deployed and operationalized
  • Hands-on experience with modern machine learning libraries, frameworks, and technologies
  • Excellent understanding of the CI/CD pipeline, Software engineering SDLC and collaborative work experience with solution delivery teams (eg. dev/ops, CI/CD, etc).
  • Demonstrable experience in AWS / Azure or any other enterprise platforms for big data, AI, IoT, and Machine Learning.
  • Experience in end-to-end ML model development and deployment is highly preferred.  Must know model containerization and integration with CI/CD pipeline
  • Experience in software development using Agile methods. 
  • Track record of prior work well documented as success stories with the customers
  • Must have worked both in start-ups and in established corporations due to both the greenfield and the expansive nature of NEOM
  • Basic knowledge of Utility industries & business processes is a plus
  • Ability to bring innovative ideas from inception to actual implementation through clear value propositions and roadmaps
  • Good interpersonal, communication (English), and motivational skills to build teams and manage stakeholders
  • Ability to operate in a team-oriented and collaborative environment and flexible to changes due to the greenfield nature of the projects.
