NEOM Launches SAR 700 Million Concrete Facility to Support THE LINE Construction

NEOM, located in northwest Saudi Arabia, has partnered with Asas Al-Mohileb to establish a SAR 700 million ready-mix concrete plant, set to play a pivotal role in the construction of THE LINE, a revolutionary linear city under development in the region. The new facility will consist of multiple plants that produce over 20,000 cubic meters of sustainable concrete daily.

Partnership for Growth

Asas Al-Mohileb, a prominent Saudi construction and engineering firm, is responsible for building and operating the plant. This collaboration highlights Saudi Arabia’s commitment to economic development and sustainability, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. NEOM CEO Nadhmi Al-Nasr emphasized the importance of local partnerships in advancing such ambitious projects efficiently and sustainably.

Green Technology Integration

The facility will integrate carbon capture and utilization (CCU) technology and energy-efficient systems to produce eco-friendly concrete. Most of the output will go towards the construction of THE LINE’s substructure and superstructure, reinforcing NEOM’s focus on innovation and sustainability.

Economic Impact and Job Creation

With the factory expected to be fully operational by 2025, the project will generate over 500 local jobs. The plant is mobilizing its fleet in preparation for the beginning of operations next month, aiming for peak performance as construction progresses.

Progress on THE LINE

Work on THE LINE’s foundation is already well underway, with 1,000 of the planned 30,000 foundation piles installed. The concrete facility will be key in accelerating the development of this visionary project.

This new factory underscores NEOM’s role as a hub for sustainable innovation and economic growth, supporting Saudi Arabia’s broader goals of modernization and environmental stewardship.
