Al-Sisi: Saudi NEOM is a big tourism project

President Abdul-Fattah al-Sisi praised the project, which was recently launched by Saudi Arabia, as a major tourist project. During a meeting with representatives of the media, Al-Sisi said on Wednesday on the sidelines of the World Youth Forum in Sharm El-Sheikh that infrastructure in the Sinai is being developed in support of tourist projects, with two roads, one from Port Said to the Gulf of Suez.

Al-Sisi added that he had hoped to open the Sharm el-Sheikh tunnel but the project would be delayed for two months. This came in response to a reporter’s question about the New City project, which will link Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan. “There is one new Arab road that runs from Port Said to the Gulf of Suez,” Sisi said, adding that Sinai’s infrastructure would be ready for future projects.

NEOM is a new investment city worth $ 0.5 trillion to be built across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Jordan as part of the ambitious vision of 2030, announced last month by Prince Mohammed bin Salman. President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi met with foreign correspondents and representatives of the Western media and a number of Egyptian editors and media editors on the sidelines of the “Youth of the World” forum.

The meeting was attended by about 50 media correspondents, including Alaa Al-Ghatrifi, Editor-in-Chief of the Ona Press and Media Foundation, journalist Amr Al-Khayyat, Editor of Akhbar Al Youm, Diaa Rashwan, Head of Information and Information Authority, Jasmine Taha and Hanaa Al-Samri.
